New Fluffy Cake Fun!

I was able to complete a couple orders this weekend and here's what we've got---

Fuzzy Turkey for Baby C.
I couldn't let her go without matching pants:)

Here they are as a set.

Here is a lovie I made for my friend Ashley's son. Ashley and I have been friends since kindergarten. She has two beautiful boys. One in kindergarten and one who is a month younger than Everett. To know Ashley is to love her. She has ALWAYS been the life of the party, the pretty girl, the one who is friends with everyone. An example of this was her wedding where we all ended up at Tanners. Ashley was living it up dancing around in her gorgeous wedding dress to a live band...that describes my girl. It is only fitting that her son have an ultra cool lovie. No ABC's or 123's here. This baby boy needs a "Love" tatoo lovie! Ashley requested taggies all the way around...love!

Little Lovebird onesie.
As much as this one pained me to make, I actually think it turned out pretty cute. A friend of mine from high school requested a KSU (nobody's perfect) onesie and a onesie with a red tie for the holidays. As you can see the KSU onesie has a little something extra on the tushy.

Hooray for Applique!

Fluffy Cakes how now officially conquered the applique! Everett is now sporting the fall leaf tie and matching pumpkin pants! Let me know if you would like to order some. I can make ties with any fabric. As for another type of applique, we can come up with something cute.

Happy Fall Part II

A couple of weeks ago, Everett had a Fall Photo shoot. My friend Bethany took his beautiful pictures. I met Bethany when I was teaching at Countryside. She taught ELL while I was teaching 5th grade. She was a fantastic teacher and as you can see, a fantastic photographer. She was extremely patient as I wrestled my kid into his many outfit changes and made sure he didn't eat too many leaves, get a mouthful of dirt, and made sure he was safe while he was wobbling back and forth while trying to stand. Can you believe she just started doing this "professionally" since she "retired" this year to take care of her baby girl? If you haven't had a chance to read Bethany's blog, it is great. I recommend it to everyone, but especially mommies or mommies to be. Bethany is a straight shooter, and I can respect that.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the little Kangaroo photos. He will be rocking this costume + his Jayhawk costume for THREE nights of trick-or-treating! Pictures will be coming soon.

Holiday Sweat Shop

A friend of mine wanted to get some of her holiday shopping done early. Fluffy Cakes to the rescue! These are just a few of the lovies I made for her. Pardon the not-so-hot pictures. I had a crying baby on my hands.
Please let me know if you would like to order some lovies for some babies:)

You're Going Down Wildcats!

Mommy and Everett's game day gear for the KU vs. KSU game.
Last Sunday Everett and his Daddy had a football day. Although Daddy wanted Everett to "stay in pajamas all day" because "it's Sunday", Mommy thought it was appropriate to show some themed spirit!

Rock Chalk (Little) Jayhawk

The Hashs + Nana and Grampie had the pleasure of going to Everett's first KU Pep Rally tonight. The back story on this was that Everett's afternoon nap was unusually very long. The rally started at 4:00 and was supposed to go until 9:00. The coaches were supposed to talk at 6:00. We got there at 6:20 and people were already starting to leave. This was actually a blessing in disguise because there were hardly any lines for pictures and autographs. However, by the time we got everything out of the car(stroller, jackets, GIANT diaper bag holding half of Everett's closet and enough food to last him until next Wednesday) the Pep band was playing their last song and the cheerleaders and mascot were leaving. No pictures with Big Jay, but as you can see, the cheerleaders loved him and he loved the cheerleaders...so did Dada.

Hat...yep

Jersey...check

Jayhawks socks...no doubt

KU T-shirt...of course

Check out that face:)

Coach Self's 2028 recruit.

He really was only interested in the sunglasses...and we almost walked off with them.
Signing the little guy's KU hat!

Think He's Hungry?

You know when you go to Babies R Us and see some really cool gadget that makes adults feel like they are outsmarting their babies and coming up with some great idea? You know, bibs that are basically full body including sleeves, cup holders in the car seat (like the kid's going to keep the cup in there), you know you've fallen for it too!
Let me start at the beginning. I love a good gimic! Ask my husband! Infomercials...yes please. I have fallen victim to the Snuggie, the Magic Bullet, any cake mold out there (giant cupcake, ice cream cake, etc.), the Bump-It, Gunner Peterson's workout videos, the Loud and Clear, The Pancake Flip, Oxy Clean, I love them all. Some of them actually work.
I also am in love with baby gimic's such as the Mommy Hook, the fan that hooks onto the stroller, the chord that keeps the sippy cup inside the stroller instead of rolling down the sidewalk, the chords that keep the binkies from falling on the ground, the binkie pods, the spoon that dispenses baby food...you see where I'm going with this. If it's out there, I own it.
Now comes to the part where Everett starts eating finger foods by himself. I started to realize that real food doesn't stick to his fingers like Puffs. 90% of the food he feeds himself ends up on the floor or in his lap. Being an attentive mother, I thought this was because he couldn't properly lift the food from his highchair tray. What do I do? Get a couple bowls with suction cups on the bottom. This way he can lift the food from the bowl and grip it using the side of the bowl to help him. Now, what do you get? Please see above.
Dear Suction Cup Bowl People,
It didn't work. I fell for it. I want my money back. I'll also take a couple boxes of Swiffer cloths. I also fell for the Swiffer Vac. I know, I need help.
Yours Truly,
Everett's Mom
